About the event
In this class we will walk through the process of canning tomatoes. Good canned tomatoes are great to have in your pantry through fall and winter. They can be used in pasta sauces, toppings for pizza and even soups.
When beginning a canning process please know it’s a good idea to set aside an entire day. There are quite a number of steps that will take a fair amount of time.
Below you will find the list of ingredients and supplies used for this class.
· A bushel of tomatoes
· Canning jars with lids, I use the Weck brand.
· Jar lifters
· A large pot 14 to 16 quart works well. I use one of those old fashioned enamel pots
· For tomatoes I will use the Kitchen Aid with the strainer attachment
· Plenty of clean kitchen towels
